How about ebay? Does ebay usually offer good parts? I see auctions offered on all the time for chipped or cracked panels or cells. Are they worth it?

You can sometimes find a good deal on ebay, but I recommend the electronics goldmine.

I've tried both ways, and personally, I've always found that building your own solar panel out of more expensive but higher quality (and returnable) solar cells is the way to go. They already have the leads soldered on, can be connected to a bus easier, and are eaier to seal, so the enclosure is better built. Plus they look better. But that's just me. Does anyone else have an opinion?
