Hi,
Do an energy audit to find out where you are using/losing heat. Chances are, you are losing heat through the walls because your insulation is sub-par or damaged. Did you have the same problem last year? If not, and nothing has changed, your heating system may just need a tune up. You can also try changing your furnace filter to help increase circulation.

I'd turn down the heat. Use more blankets or something, maybe wear a sweater. Where in the midwwest do you live? I live in St. Louis. Its been pretty mild if you ask me.

I live in the midwest, and the temperature here has been brutal over the last few weeks, as normal around this time of year. If I only had time to do one thing to reduce my heating bill, what should I do? Thanks for the help.
