I personally don't like the glow of LED lights, even CFL still bugs me. They take a little while to warm up, so to speak. CFL are still very expensive in my area, but I still use them outside in places where I don't really care if the lights are on. That said, though, I still use traditional bulbs and just keep careful tabs on my usage.

I'm not jumping on the LED bandwagon yet, but they are promising. I'd still stick by CFLs but truly they aren't the only answer. Good conservation efforts are also needed. You waste energy if you leave a light on thats not needed – with a CFL you waste less, true, but you're still wasting power.

LEDs use much less energy, are cooler to the touch than even CFL bulbs, but don't put out as much light (lumens) are are much more expensive, especially to try and replicate the color balance of a normal light bulb. Plus im not sure if they work on dimmers…CFL bulbs definitely dont…well most of them anyway.
